TEMERLOH, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- Chairmen of the Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family) Digital Economy Centres (PEDi) can help monitor internet coverage in their respective areas, in a bid to provide better services to the community.

Political secretary to Communications and Multimedia Minister, Datuk Dr Budiman Mohd Zohdi, said PEDi chairmen could do so by channelling information to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

“If there is a place where the coverage is not very good, you can lodge a complaint to the MCMC through their website,” he told Bernama.

Budiman was met after representing Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa at the presentation of appointment letters to PEDi chairmen and the telecommunication briefing with users at Dewan Tun Razak here today.

Also present were Pahang MCMC director Mohd Faisal Md Nor and Kuala Semantan Assemblyman Datuk Nor Azmi Mat Ludin.

Commenting on the appointment of 111 PEDi chairmen in Pahang, Budiman said they played a role in helping the PEDi leadership to design beneficial programmes for all levels of society, especially involving the digital economy.

Meanwhile, he said that three more PEDi would start operating in Pahang next year, namely one in Teruntum, Kuantan and two others in Rompin, bringing the total number of the centre in the state to 114.
